12-24-15 – Have You Ever Wondered What It Will be Like When Jesus Is Reigning on the Earth?

John 14:1-3 – 

“Do not let your heart be troubled;
believe in God, believe also in Me.
“In My Father’s house are many dwelling places;
if it were not so, I would have told you;
for I go to prepare a place for you.
“If I go and prepare a place for you,
I will come again and receive you to Myself,
that where I am, there you may be also.”

Revelation 20:6 –

“Blessed and holy is the one who has a part in the first resurrection;
over these the second death has no power,
but they will be priests of God and of Christ
and will reign with Him for a thousand years.“

Today is a bit difficult for me, as likely it is for others around this time of year. Some of the unpleasant memories from my past came flooding in this morning and the tears flowed. BUT the LORD was with me, carried me through and helped me to refocus on Him and His amazing LOVE.

I don’t know about any of you, but sometimes I like to imagine what things might be like when Jesus is reigning on earth. We KNOW there will be no more tears, no more pain and we will be living in GREAT JOY with our beloved KING.

The Bible really doesn’t tell us very much about the details we will individually experience,  when Jesus is ruling and reigning on earth, so that leaves quite a bit to the imagination.  REMEMBER . . . The life we have now is ending, but the “next phase” WILL BE AWESOME, for those of us who are  “making ourself ready” . . That means we keep a CLEAN walk with the LORD . . . Repent . . Forgive and ask the Holy Spirit to show us ANY area that we must change, so we can be ready for our beloved Groom, KING JESUS.

Some of the versions of the Bible refer to mansions we will have, or “dwelling places”;

this is one area I like to think about to help me focus on what’s AFTER all of the treacherous times we are facing.  So, I’ll share with you some of my musings . . . My “I wonder. . . ” thoughts of what it might be like for me, when Jesus is ruling on the earth.  Maybe you might like to share some of yours with me as well.  

 

I Wonder if I’ll be wearing some of the lovely India-inspired clothes, that I find quite beautiful and yes, I LOVE the blue, green and teal colors.

 

 

I wonder if my mansion will have a Grande Ball Room, so I can host waltzes.  Oh how lovely would that be.  Ya’ll come dressed up in your finest formal attire . . .it will be the Prince and Princess Kingdom of Heaven Ball, with Jesus as the Guest of Honor.  Hey, for the country folks, we’ll host a shin-dig outside next week, so don’t worry . . . LOL. . . You can wear your jeans . . I’ll still have one of my India-inspired outfits on.

I wonder what my white horse might look like.  I sure like the look of the long flowing manes and tales.  Likely a bridle and saddle with LOTS of bling too. . . Of course, nothing but the best.

 

 

I wonder if I’ll have a Tuscan-inspired kitchen.  I sure would like to host a meal for Jesus. . . . Well, actually MANY meals, snacks, drop-by conversations.  Hey, you can pop on over too. . . Let’s have a snack party and bring your favorite snack. We’ll ask Jesus to bring some manna (yes, it’s okay to smile here . . . Grin).

I wonder if there will be a gazebo in the back, with plants and flowers. . . What a lovely place to have some quiet time with Jesus.

I wonder if I’ll have a ragdoll cat (or preferably several cats and kittens). . . because I LOVE cats and this is my favorite breed.  

 

I wonder if my bedroom will have a canopy bed; I always wanted one of those.

I wonder if I’ll have an afghan hound (because I think they look really cool and dogs are amazing too). Did you know this is one of the oldest dog breeds?

 

 

I wonder if my mansion will have a conservatory, with birds in it.  Also a water feature with koi . . . How lovely is that?

I wonder what the outside of my mansion will look like.

Yes, and it’s interesting that this morning’s Bible verse of the day, from the local Christian radio station – after this discussion we had last night is: “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning” (James 1:17). It made me think of how our Father will bless us with so many gifts once we receive our new bodies and new homes. God bless you, dear sister.

  6. Yes, I totally understand that. But just like how the Lord will bless us with many things in our Heavenly homes that we always wanted down here, I believe He will bless us with our beloved pets up there. Even though they don’t have spirits, we know that God can easily transfer them up to Heaven, to be waiting for us. We know that with God ALL things are possible. But obviously, time will tell! Of course whatever He has for us is best. Hugs back to you.

    TRULY it will be a blessing to meet those who have gone on before us and for those who have lost children. . . To meet them 🙂

    Here’s where we need to look at the pets:
    While a beautiful thought, Biblically we are not told any animals here will be with us in Heaven, for they have not been created in the image of God and do not have a spirit;they aren’t “eternal beings”. They have a body and soul. . But no spirit. What you may find are animals that are the best and even better of our beloved pets. ((((HUGS)))

  8. Yes, such wonderful thoughts. My beloved doggie, Dorie, who is now 12 1/2, will be with me forever in Heaven. I’m so thankful for this. And I have 4 siblings, my daddy (who got saved 8 days before he died), a grandmother, and 2 miscarried babies waiting for me in Heaven. So beautiful to think about. It’s truly beyond our wildest dreams. 🙂

  10. I am reading and am caught up in the future. Linda thank you for this post. I imagine one day plying and walking with Creighton whom went home to Jesus in 1999 at age of four months. He would be 16 now. So much to wonder about. So much to hope for. On top of all that we will have Jesus with us for all eternity!

  12. This is such a beautiful post, Linda. As for me, the horse has been my favorite animal since I was a wee girl so when I picture the place the Lord is making for me, I see a large stable filled with large, lovely Clydesdales on down to mini horses with big round bellies. Like you, I picture having a conservatory with both fish and birds, every kind of flower all blooming at the same time, ponds, and waterfalls. Thank you for sharing how you focus on your eternal home-I loved that! We have a hope and a future, beyond this present darkness. Praise God!

  13. Those are BEATIFUL thoughts, increase glory. I wouldn’t use Spurs anyway, on this side of glory (much less then). I also like the idea of no saddle or bridle (I used a bitless bridle for my horse, for the brief time I had her) . . . . But maybe there might be bling ribbons in the mane 🙂
    Excellent thoughts and yes, we would be able to communicate that way. What a LOVELY thing to think about. Thank you for sharing those thoughts. 🙂

    Following is a word and scripture verse I received after ‘once again’ sinning and repenting. Being so grieved by my sin(s) I cried out to the LORD. Wanting so much to be righteous and holy ‘I’ keep getting in the way of being all both the LORD and I desire me to be.

    “My righteousness extends to those whose heart yearns for Me. To those who confess their imperfections, acknowledge their sinfulness and call out to Me for forgiveness. Yes, I hear, deliver and heal all who call on My Name. Perfection, sinless lives come only when My child enters the gates of glory. My kingdom doors swing wide to welcome those whose hearts and lives have been perfected by their death in Me through the blood of My Son. Until then My child, you will stumble, stand, move ahead, stumble again, lag behind, grope and groan over your sins.

    Continue to trust Me to forgive and strengthen you to continue the journey. Many are the sins of My people, but I will deliver them out of them all. Do not be dismayed, fear not and have faith.

    Dark days soon coming, do not be blinded or sidetracked by the enemy whose agenda is to steal, kill and destroy. Trust Me, but do not doubt nor fear. My love will sustain. Follow Me.”

    Psalm 119:26-28. ” I have declared my ways and Thou heard me, teach me Thy statutes. Make me to understand the ways of Thy precepts, so shall I talk of Thy wondrous works. My soul melts for heaviness; strengthen Thou me according to Thy Word.”

  17. Very lovely thoughts, sister. Something that our finite minds can wrap around, although I think what we have in store is BEYOND all imagination. The Bible says; “eyes have not seen, ears not heard, nor has it entered into the heart of MAN the things He has in store for those that love Him”.

    I also don’t think the earth can contain those things. Jesus said; MY Kingdom is NOT of this world. The Apostle Peter also said;
    2 Peter 3:10-13King James Version (KJV)

    10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat,THE EARTH ALSO and the works that are therein shall be burned up.

    11 Seeing then that all these things shall be DISSOLVED, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness,

    12 Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?

    13 Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for NEW HEAVENS AND A NEW EARTH, wherein dwelleth righteousness.

    This earth is NOT our home, nor do I want it to be my home. More and more, everyday, as the days get darker, and more evil, I realize I’m NOT a citizen in this world, and I want to go home. I want to see the One who made it possible for us to imagine how it will be. I want to be in NEW Jerusalem, a city NOT built by the hands of men, but by God, Himself. Not a earthly city with a temple built by man, but where GOD IS THE TEMPLE.

  18. This is pretty trivial (although probably not so to your horse), but you will actually not use a bridle at all, any more than you would use spurs. Your horse does not need to be Controlled as a trained animal. He takes you where you tell him you want to go out of love and mutual respect. In Heaven, you can talk with all animals, and they “talk” (more like telepathy) with you. I presume it will be the same for the 1000-year reign on Earth. As for the saddle – I just don’t know. But if they’re in use, you may surely have bling on yours. (Mine, too!)
